Student Bursary Program

We have partnered with Rotary to reduce financial barriers for students undertaking mandatory placements as part of their degree, ensuring students from the Macleay Valley can complete their studies and transition into the workforce without financial stress.

 

Program Details

Program Overview
The bursary provides financial support of $500–$2,000 to eligible students undertaking unpaid or low-paid placements.
The bursary is designed to support costs such as:
  • Travel (fuel, flights, public transport)
  • Temporary accommodation
  • Meals and daily living expenses
  • Placement-related costs (uniforms, checks, equipment)
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
  • Be a registered student with CUC Macleay Valley
  • Be enrolled in a tertiary course (university or higher education provider)
  • Be required to undertake a mandatory placement/practicum/internship
  • Be completing placement during the current academic year of 2026
Priority may be given to:
  • Students required to travel outside the Macleay Valley
  • Students undertaking extended placements (e.g. 4+ weeks)
  • First-in-family university students
  • Students in high workforce demand areas (health, education, social work, etc.)
