Career Ideas (Year 5 and 6)
CUC Macleay Valley in partnership with Western Sydney University (WSU) have engaged in the development of a program focused on upper primary school students. The Career Ideas Program is designed to support students in Years 5 and 6 as they begin to explore their future pathways. Through engaging, curriculum-aligned workshops delivered in their own school environment, students are introduced to the concept of higher education and lifelong learning in an accessible and inspiring way.
These interactive sessions are developed to:
- Foster curiosity and imagination about future careers
- Highlight university and other post-school options
- Emphasise that there are many pathways to success
- Encourage students to see higher education as an achievable goal
In-School Workshops are planned to be held twice a year at participating schools; these workshops are facilitated by our dedicated CUC Macleay Valley Career Ideas team. The sessions are hands-on and connect with a range of subjects and interests, helping students make links between what they enjoy learning and possible future careers.
The program values and respects all aspirations—whether students are interested in university, trades, entrepreneurship, or creative industries—while aiming to build confidence, self-awareness, and a sense of possibility.
Our goal is to inspire young learners to recognise their potential and to see that their future is full of opportunity.
